Whats up Mattie. Can you tell us a little bit about your tape and your song selections?

Sure! My songs are a selection of pop-punk / punk rock songs from the 90s and 2000s that I tune into when running. I used to hate exercise but forced myself to get into running in order to get fit - I drummed to a lot of these songs when I was younger so the tempo, speed and nostalgia gets me through a run.

What direction did you take with your cover art, and what was your process?

The process was a bit all over the place, which is all good with me. I tried out a few initial ideas and tried to stretch my style and brought it back to something more simple, inspired by the simple stickers found plastered around skateboards, drum sets and Playstations as a kid.

What are your fave album covers, records with a great music and artwork combo, or musical projects with a visual component?

The Blink 182 self-title is bang at the top of my head. Neon pinks appear in pretty much most of my other illustration and icon work and I’m putting it down to this album.

What did you listen to growing up?

A lot of everything - there was no real specific genre but most of the older songs in this playlist would have been on repeat.

And what’s on heavy rotation for you at the moment?

Really got into WSTR recently. A little bit of Machine Gun Kelly, Don Broco, Hands Like Horses… but it all varies. I’m looking at Spotify now and it’s telling me I’ve had Billy Joel and some of the songs from this year's Eurovision on repeat, so it's a bit of a mixed bag with different genres.

What’s happening in your creative world at the moment?

Mainly working at a nice little brand design agency in Leamington. I’m spending a good bit of down time attempting to touch-up on my motion and lettering skills.
