Alex is a freelance illustrator based in London.

Hi Alex, can you tell us a little bit about your tape and your song selections?

Hello! Yes! It’s pretty much a selection of things I have been listening to recently and a few favorites too. There is no specific theme and they are a bit of a jumble in genre, but enjoyable to draw to also.

How did you go about the artwork for the tape?

I pretty much went with the first idea that came to my head. Hopefully there was some inspiration from the playlist.

What are your fave album covers, records with a great music and artwork combo, or musical projects with a visual component?

I’d have to go with Rich LaPenna’s Heavy On The Drums. It looks like it was made on Microsoft Paint but there is something very endearing about it.

What did you listen to growing up?

I think my first album i bought was Oxide and Neutrino’s Execute. I also remember thinking I was buying More Fire Crew tapes off of the other school kids and when I got home to play them, it would just be static. So basically i was ripped off.

What’s happening in your creative world at the moment?

Just ploughing on with illustration and attempting to make a living off of it. No real plans as yet but it can be exciting not knowing what kind of job might come next.
