Hi Alex, can you tell us a little bit about your tape and your song selections?

The tape is full of songs I think you can draw to - tunes you can relax and sink in to but occasionally have a sing along to as well - mellow but not moody.

How did you go about the artwork for the tape?

The tone of the playlist is something I’m pretty familiar with, I like to melt away into songs as I’m drawing - the kind where you don’t realise your doing both. The artwork just had to have progressional sinking and this is where it ended up.

What are your fave album covers, records with a great music and artwork combo, or musical projects with a visual component?

Josef K - It’s Kinda Funny
2016, Les Disques Du Crépuscule
Artwork: Jean-François Octave

Blur - Parklife
1994, Food
Design: Chris Thompson / Stylorouge

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses
1989, Silvertone
Artwork: John Squire

The Stone Roses - I Wanna Be Adored [single]
Silvertone, 1989
Artwork: John Squire

The Stone Roses - Fools Gold / What the World Is Waiting For [single]
1989, Silvertone
Artwork: John Squire

Stone Roses have undeniably nailed the music/artwork combo.

What did you listen to growing up?

I followed a pretty faithful britpop - indie timeline of music, growing up in the 90s offered up a few gems, plus, anything that was played on Skins.

What’s happening in your creative world at the moment?

It’s been a year of a few changes - I joined agency Grand Matter back in July and have been working on some really great briefs with them and alongside this I’ve just started on a masters at the Royal College - I’m looking forward to seeing where these new ventures take my work.
