Hey Jack, can you tell us a little bit about your tape and your song selections?
Hello Sam! Before I started this project, it was just a playlist full of songs that I enjoyed listening to, either when I was drawing or skating. As the majority of the songs had a sort of ‘summery’ feel to them, I decided to base my playlist on the month June. I wanted it to sound like as if you was listening to it from morning to night. So from there, it was quite fun to try pick out the best songs and then put them in a particular order so that they blended well together.
How did you go about the artwork for the tape?
I was inspired by the song Peaches by The Stranglers. I think that was one of the first songs I put on it, just cause it’s the perfect summer song. I wanted the cover to have this 80’s holiday vibe, so I decided to use bold halftone and pastel pink.
What are your fave album covers, records with a great music and artwork combo, or musical projects with a visual component?
There are so many! It’s hard to choose, so here are some recent favourites.

What did you listen to growing up?
Well I heard a lot of what my Dad was listening to like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Sabbath and Captain Beefheart. I also hung about with my older cousin when I was growing up so I basically listened to whoever he was into like Slipknot, Korn, Rage Against The Machine etc. Then from there I started to get into bands like The Strokes and The Hives.
What’s happening in your creative world at the moment?
Recently I’ve just been designing posters, covers and lettering pieces. I’ve been getting a bit bored of my regular style, so these designs have allowed me try out new stuff and play around with some ideas which is pretty cool.
